Dear Fellow Rotarians: You are invited to participate in a life-changing education and awareness workshop on Essential Discussions for Truth and Reconciliation. Registration deadline is January 29th
Hosted by the Honouring Indigenous Peoples (HIP) committees of the Rotary Clubs of Downtown Winnipeg and Transcona and with financial support from the Vickar Automotive Group, this two-part virtual workshop will mark the beginning of a new perspective. Here you will learn about the true, proud and resilient history of First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples in Canada and the traumatic experience of colonization. Your broadened view will enable you to build new and stronger relationships in your community, improve service to the community you serve, and work effectively with First Nations, Metis and Inuit Peoples while creating new opportunities.
Only by respecting history can we achieve a shared understanding of the present, enabling the exploration of a prosperous, equitable and sustainable future, together. Stay tuned for other Rotary HIP hosted opportunities this spring and fall to continue your journey through Circles for Reconciliation. Miigwech, Thank you, Merci, Darren Swanson, Ingrid Dowan
