Sappfyre McLeod received the Rotary Dr. E. Leslie Pidgeon Award

The Rotary Club of Winnipeg presented 18 year old Sappfyre McLeod with the Dr. E. Leslie Pidgeon Award on April 16, 2014, in recognition of her many volunteer initiatives and accomplishments.

Sappfyre was nominated for the Award by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg where she was a graduate of the Rotary Leadership Circle summer program and a leader in the CSI (Community School Investigators) Summer Learning Enrichment program. Both programs are supported by the Rotary Club of Winnipeg. The Award included a Certificate and a cheque for $250 to assist Sappfyre with her University education.

"Sappfyre has shown exemplary leadership and service to the community," said Ron Brown, Executive Director and CEO of Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg, "We are very proud of all of Sappfyre's accomplishments. The Rotary Club of Winnipeg couldn't have chosen a more worthy recipient for this award."
